Swedish Election with unclear result: New political administration in Region Skåne

The General Election in Sweden has resulted in a change of government with a precarious majority at both the national and the regional level. The change of power in Skåne will have consequences for membership of STRING’s political committee, Political Forum, on the Swedish side.

STRING on the agenda

“I think it is incredibly positive that we have managed to put the STRING cooperation on a number of political agendas over the past year”. That is the message from the Chairwoman of STRING, Anke Spoorendonk, who is also Minister of Justice, Cultural and European Affairs in Schleswig-Holstein. She will be able to take inventory of the cooperation after a year of acting Chairwoman when the STRING politicians meet in Copenhagen on the 30th of September 2014.

Struggling Danish interns? Head to Germany!

The number of young people entering higher education is increasing in Northern Germany – which is becoming problematic for the companies of Schleswig-Holstein. According to figures from July 2014, there is around 8000 apprenticeships not being filled in Schleswig-Holstein – which is almost 10% higher than the previous year. The Danish Minister for Education is now encouraging Danish youths to head across the border for apprenticeships.
